Overview
The adapted cycling programme is for people of all ages with disabilities, special educational needs and long-term health conditions. We have a range of bikes that meet the needs of participants looking to enjoy a social bike ride whilst improving fitness and wellbeing.
What type of activities will I be doing?
- Preparing the cycles for use prior to the sessions starting
- Ensuring that participants are accessing and using the adapted cycles safely.
- This include adjusting the bikes to suit the individual.
- Helping participants to improve their fitness through motivation and building trust
- Cycle with participants
- Engaging with participants in a social environment
- Putting cycles in storage at the end of the session
What skills & qualities do I need?
- An interest in outdoor exercise and leisure
- Good interpersonal skills and able to relate to people with disabilities and their carers/parents
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Able to handle equipment which can be heavy
When will I be needed?
- Sessions available: Tuesdays 9.30am-12pm/ Wednesdays 9.30am-12pm/ Wednesdays 5pm -6.45pm
- No sessions in January
- Peterborough Athletics Track, Bishops Road, PE1 5BW

Role Specific training will include:
- Process and procedures
- How to use the cycles and adapt them for the individuals
- Emergency First Aid
- Safeguarding
- Manual Handling training
