This summer, Flag Fen Archaeology Park is the place to be for families looking to enjoy the great outdoors, get active, and dive into a world of history, wildlife and play. From Saturday 19th July, they’re turning up the energy with daily outdoor games, daily themed activities, and make the most of it with a Summer Pass that unlocks unlimited access for just £25!

Let your kids (and your inner child) run free in the dedicated Games Zone, filled with summer favourites like stomp rockets, archery, kite flying, space hoppers, and table tennis. Challenge the family to a round of hay-bale-parkour or a sack race, or simply enjoy the open space and fresh air with a picnic. The Game Zone is open every day this summer, but the adventure doesn’t stop there—join them for exciting ranger-led activities, with a different themed experience day during the week:

Wildlife Wednesdays – A wild day of nature discovery. Take part in minibeast hunts, pond dipping, and the Big Butterfly Count.
Roman Thursdays – March into history with their resident Roman soldier and train in battle formations, meet Boudica inside the roundhouse, and try your hand at slingshot practice.
Forest School Fridays – Get hands-on with den building, wild art, and shelter making as you explore bushcraft skills and connect with nature.
Sports Day Saturdays – Full of nostalgia for all the family to enjoy. Join the egg & spoon races, sack races, hula hoop tournaments, and more— and yes, there’s a sack race just for grown-ups!
Science Sundays – Explore how the world works with hands-on experiments, from bubble physics to helicopter gliders, and pollution and preservation demos to Nature’s Rainbow—a colourful look at how insects see the world.
